The Annual Garden Competition for the year 2008 was conducted last night at Udhampur Garrison and covered various categories of plants, flowers and gardens. As a keenly contested event, army personnel displayed awareness towards the environment, care of Mother Nature and efforts to handover a beautiful earth to the posterity.
Deepa Bhardwaj, President AWWA, Northern Command, who was the chief guest for the event, distributed prizes to the winners.
The Indian Army has always been conscious about environmental issues and has done a remarkable job of greening India, especially the remote and inhospitable terrains. The enthusiasm displayed reaffirmed the commitment to the cause by all ranks of the Indian Army. |
