| Prof. Mattoo meet Sardar Attique | | | Islamabad | Mar 30 The Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu, Padamshree Professor Amitabh Mattoo today met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) Sardar Attique Khan, and Sherry Rehman, the Information and Broadcasting Minister of the newly elected government. During the meeting the Vice Chancellor , Prof Amitabh Mattoo discussed the prospects and possibilities of closer cooperation between India and Pakistan and the two sides of Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister (POK ), Sardar Attique Khan and Professor Amitabh Mattoo talked at length about closer cooperation in the education sector. Vice Chancellor also raised the issue of allowing Kashmiri Pandits to visit the Shardapeeth shrine in POK. Professor Mattoo conveyed the greetings of Gulam Nabi Azad , Chief Minister J&K state to Sardar Attique. Professor Mattoo was accompanied by Professor Nirmal Singh, Arun Joshi and Happy Mon Jacob during his meeting with Ms Sherry Rehman. Sardar Attique Rehman assured the delegation of the new government's commitment to move the peace process forward and reducing the information deficit between the two countries. Sardar Attique invited doctors and engineers from Jammu and Kashmir to help in the reconstruction of Muzaffarabad irrespective of what religion they belong to in J&K. |
