| ‘Let peace rule the roost, hatred give way to love’:-Vakil | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Mar 30 Beseeching upon politicians to abstain from raising slogans that create hatred and trigger violence, the Minister for Social Welfare Abdul Gani Vakil has said “Let love and brotherhood rule the roost and give way to peace". He said that irreparable loss to life and property during last 18 years of turmoil had given heavy jolt to state's development and economy. "A new phase of progress has started which needs to be strengthened", he said. He was addressing a public meeting at Dangarpora Sonawari of Bandipora district today. Referring to the vast tourism potential of the state, especially that of the Valley, Vakil said, transformation of erstwhile Siraj Bagh into Asia's largest Tulip garden by Azad reminds the carving out of historic gardens by Mughal kings in the country. He said the fascinating gift in the shape of unique Tulip garden, which would ultimately bloom 30 lakhs tulips at a time would emerge as an important tourist attraction in coming years. He said "Naming the garden after late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is all the more relevant for her Kashmir origin and great love of Nehru family for Kashmir valley and its people. Vakil said that Mughal gardens and Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip garden situated in the picturesque Zabarwan foothills reflect the charming beauty and serenity of the land of great Sufi saints, who always preached love and peace. Speaking on the occasion, MLC Mohammad Amin Bhat said that government was pooling all resources to tackle unemployment problem in the state. He urged the Chief Minister to pursue for unemployment package for the educated youth with Centre. Among others, Amrina Badar and Mohammad Iqbal spoke on the occasion. |
