| Sahitya Academy organizes Kashmiri Conf. in Rajouri | | | Early Times Reporter

Sahitya Academy today organized, first of its kind, one-day Kashmiri Conference at Rajouri in which prominent writers and poets from across the state participated.
Among the prominent writers, who attended the conference, included Professor Morgoob Banihali, Bimla Raina, Prof Ayaz Rasool Nazki, Dr. Aziz Hajim, Sad-ud-Din Saidi and Shahzada Rafiq.
In his welcome address, convener Sahitya Academy Dr. Aziz Hajini emphasized upon the need for organizing more such programmes especially in rural and far-flung areas. He appreciated the local talent and announced that during next five years these types of conferences will be organized in rural areas.
Prof. Margoob Banihali presided over the poets meet and expressed gratitude to the Academy and DR. Hajmi for initiating such innovative programme in Rajouri.
Later, an interaction session was held on "Development of Kashmiri language and literature in Rajouri and Poonch" in which 20 writers put forth their valuable opinions. |
