New beginning made to ward off problems of rural areas: Mula Ram
‘Waiving of farmers loans another forward step’

Minister for Rural Development Mula Ram today said that a new beginning has been made to ward off problems confronting to rural areas and described the waiver of loans of farmers of the country another major step towards liberating them from the shackles of chronic economic backwardness.
Addressing a gathering at Dhar Dharoochian village in Raiper Domana, the Minister also handed over the government order to the local Gram Sabha relating to up gradation of Primary school.
Dhar Daroochain, located atop kandi hills touching Nagrota area and last village of Raiper Domana constituency, has been connected with a concrete blacktopped road during the coalition regime from Seri on Ambgarato -Akhnoor road, while work on several other link roads to connect various hamlets of the area is apace.
Highlighting the massive developmental works taken up in Dhar Dharoochian area or elsewhere in the state, Minister said “much more is yet to be done to address the problems of rural areas particularly those falling in Kandi belt. ‘ I can say with confidence that a new beginning has been made on this account’, he said and added that massive road communication programme, envisaging connectivity of all the villages in the state by 2012, was the first major step followed by many other schemes aimed at providing all basic amenities at par with urban areas to the rural people. He said the with whooping Rs 1200 crore under National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme for the state, stage has been set for a Rural Jammu and Kashmir with all social infrastructure available in Urban areas.
He said the recent decision of union government to waive off Rs 60,000 crore pending loan with farmers is another major step towards liberating the later from the chronic economic backwardness.
Responding to the demand of improved water and power supply to the area raised by the locals, Minister assured to take up the matter with the concerned departments As regards improvement in power supply, the area has already been surveyed under Rajiv Gandhi Vidhuti Kiran Yojana.
