Three children reported killed in a landslide at Lastan Biama, 140 Km from Leh soon reaching the news the district administration remain alert and rescue team sent to the place headed by tehsildar Khalsi.
The chief executive councillor, LAHDC Leh Chhering Dorje along with Deputy Commissioner, Leh M.K Bhandari rushed today for the spot to see rescue operations. Executive councillor Tsering Norboo Lampa and Councillor Skiurbuchan Punchok Stanzin stationed at Biama to oversee rescue. Till now, the dead bodies of two children is recovered and the third one is till under debris of big boulder and soil. The chief executive councilor bereaved the family members of the deceased. He said that hill council would provide relief to the family of the deceased. The deputy commissioner Leh ahs instructed the sub-divisional Magistrate Khalsi to approach the army for snifer dogs for extraction of the missing one.
The Industries Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora, who is these days at Leh has extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. |
