| Zulfikar alleges diversification, misuse of funds | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 31 Senior PDP leader and district president of Rajouri Choudhary Zulfikar has strongly condemned Social Welfare Department for misusing and diversifying funds under SCA to TSP component of the plan which is meant for the Tribal population of the State. In a statement issued here today, Zulfikar who is also a member of the Gujjar and Bakerwal Advisory Board said that the guide lines issued by the Government of India, Minister of Tribal Affairs, for utilization of these funds, were neither adhered to nor even seen by the officers at the helm of the affairs. He regretted that this year all the procedures and past precedents were ignored and plans were formulated by the officers while sitting in the Secretariat and the real representatives of the Tribal people including members of the Gujjar and Bakerwal Advisory Board were not taken into confidence. He further said that funds were released to the workers of a one political party while as genuine persons were ignored by floating all norms and rules. Zulfikar alleged that funds worth crores of rupees under SCA to TSP were released from March 15 to March 27, 2008 and were drawn before March 31, 2008. Common people, for whom these funds were meant, fail to understand as when these huge funds were utilized. He sought personal intervention of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Deputy Chief Minister, Muzaffar Hussain Beig in this regard.
