| SP Rao takes over as GAIL Chairman and MD | | |
New Delhi, August 28,
Gas utility GAIL India on Monday, said S P Rao, Director (Projects), has taken over the additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director after Proshanto Banerjee was denied extension of service by the Government.
Banerjee's term of five years came to an end on Sunday. Rao is the senior most full-time Director of GAIL and has been in-charge of Operations and Maintenance and Project execution of the company since October 1999.
He has been with GAIL since its inception and has a experience of 36 years in the oil and gas industry.
