Early Times Reporter Nowshera | Mar 31 Members of J&K handicap welfare association have demanded for opening of rehabilitation centre for handicap persons at border town Nowshera, for which they have been pressing since long. As per press release, handicap persons beside this have demanded enhancement of stipend ship from Rs. 300 to Rs. 600, as announced and the chief minister last year organizing a camp for providing of artificial limbs, Wheel Chair, Tri-cycle, cruch and hearing aid. Vinod Sharma, senior vice president of association unit Nowshera in a meeting said, that a charter of demands have been submitted to tehsildar and Addl. Superintendent Police Sanjeev Khajuria with the request that the same he awarded to the higher authorities. He said, SRO 220 of 1998 he implemented which provides equal opportunity to handicap persons. They also demanded that under IAY scheme financial assistance he granted in favour of displaced persons, beside free medical check up. Among others present in the meeting were, Ex-Capt. Moti Ram, R.P Danral, B.L Panchi, Narinder Sharma, Paramjeet Singh, Ahok Kumar, Puran Chand, Balwant Rai and others. |
