| Two policemen killed in shootout | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 1 Two police constables were killed when unidentified persons opened firing on them in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir today. Some unidentified persons opened fire on two policemen during their duty on Dhar road near GREF office in Udhampur town, official sources said. Soon after the firing, the assailants fled from the spot. One policemen - Arun Kumar - died on the spot while his colleague Deep Kumar was injured. He was shifted to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have launched a hunt to track down the culprits responsible for the act, Deputy Inspector General of Police Alok Puri told . He, however, ruled out involvement of militants in the incident. Puri said old rivalry was believed to be the reason behind the incident. |
