| Ousted class-IV employees of Excise, Taxes Deptt. stage protest demonstration | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 1 Seeking re-absorption and regularization in the department, All J &K Excise and Commercial Taxes C-IV Ousted Government Employees Association of Jammu and Kashmir today lodged a protest demonstration in support of their demands. The protest was held here on Tuesday in front of the Excise and Commercial Tax Department, Panama Chowk, wherein these Protestants were on Sit-down on continuously 426 days after their terminations from the jobs since February last year. Holding placards in their hands, these Protestants were demanding re-absorption and regularization in Government job again and sought their permanent government service from the date of termination. The aggrieved protestants were shouting slogans against the government authorities for the callous attitude towards them and alleged that despite the assurance given by the Chief Minister and Finance minister in the Legislative Assembly that all these ousted employees will be re-absorbed but till date nothing has been done. While addressing protesters on the occasion, state president of the association Adil Rashid Khan criticized the government for not fulfilling their long pending demand despite repeated assurances and termed this behaviour of the government undemocratic. He also said that after working in the department about 9-12 years, it is very severe punishment of the government for ousting them from the jobs when they have crossed the over age limit and have to feed their family members. However, leaders of JK Govt. Employees Federation have extended their full support to these ousted employees and also participated in the protest. |
