New Delhi August 28th,: Industry 2.0 India's premier Industry Guide today announced its Annual Report on Indian Manufacturing Sector & Best in Class cases in August 2006. This power-packed special issue puts together a concise analysis of 2.5 Lakh manufacturing companies across 22 sectors and provides a one-of-its-kind ranking of the Top 500 manufacturing companies in India. Taking into Account the importance of SMBs to Indian manufacturing the issue also presents its first ever ranking of the TOP 500 Small Manufacturing Businesses.
Indian Oil Corporation topped the ranking on the TOP 500 Manufacturing Companies. Among the TOP Small and Medium Manufacturers the top rank went to JBM Auto.

It was not just market capitalization that was the determinant of the ranking but other factors such as size, operational efficiency, financial risk, profitability and growth as the total revenue may also have a part of revenue generated from other sources non recurring in nature.
India is witnessing a resurgence of manufacturing. Over the past two years the sector has steadily grown at 9-10 percent. Indian companies are increasing meeting global standards of quality, cost and productivity.
