| Law School girls win three titles | | Inter-Department Sports Meet of JU | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 1 The Law School of the University of Jammu completely dominated the girls’ indoor events in the ongoing Inter-Departmental Sports Meet of the University of Jammu, here today. Out of four events decided today, the Law School girls won three finals of Badminton, Table Tennis and Carrom while the Chess title went to Law Department of the University of Jammu. Earlier, in the Badminton final, Law School trounced Law Department 2-1. The results: Singles: Preet Simran lost to Jyoti Sharma 14-21, 5-21; Mehak beat Surbhi Gupta 21-4, 21-6. Doubles: Mehak and Preet Simrant beat Jyoti and Surbhi 21-14, 21-10. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Law School beat Department of Physcial Education 2-0. Results: Singles: Mehak Gupta bt Ruchika 21-5, 21-6; Preet Simran Kour bt Harvinder Kour 21-4, 21-5. In the Carrom final, Law School girls again defeated Law Department 2-0. Results: Preet Simrant bt Jyoti Sharma; Supriya Jamwal bt Sonia. The Table Tennis title again went to Law School, who beat Department of Physical Education 2-0. Results: Swera Jamwal bt Harvinder Kour 11-6, 11-5; Preet Simran bt Meenakshi 11-8, 5-11, 11-7. However, in Chess final, Law Department salvaged a victory beating Law School 2-0. Results: Surbhi Gupta bt Iram Choudhary; Jyoti Sharma bt Gul Verma. Today’s matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Rajan Tah, Meenakshi an Sunaina under the supervision of senior Table Tennis Coach of the Department of Physical Education, Ramesh Magotra. |
