| 2 JeM Militants eliminated | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Apr 2 Security forces today claimed to have gunned down two JeM militants believed to be Pakistni from a village near Bandipora in North Kashmir. Police sources told KMT that in response to a tip off, troops of police and army in a joint operation gunned down two Jaish-e-Mohammed militants at Dardpora Bandipora. Giving details Police said that it received specific information regarding presence of militants in the house of Nazir Ahmad Khan, S/o Ab. Hamid, R/o Arin Dardpora, and in reaction, cops of police and 14 RR launched a joint search operation in the village. As the cops of security forces reached the target area, militants fired upon them, which was equally retaliated and during the ensuing encounter two militants believed to be Pakistani militants of Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit were gunned down, Police told Kashmir Media Trust. Police sources further said that during the exchange of fire, a cowshed was also damaged where a couple of animals also perished. Two AK 47 rifles, two magazines and two pouches were recovered from the site of encounter. During preliminary investigation, the slain militants are reportedly believed to be Omar and Saifullah of Pakistan, police said. |
