| Joint Terror Mechanism: India, Pak making little headway: Nirmal Singh | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 2 Senior BJP leader and member of the national executive Dr Nirmal Singh on Wednesday said that like minded people in Pakistan have started acknowledging the fact that cooperative approach to tackle menace of terrorism in the South Asian region is the need of hour as the monster is spreading its tentacles. Addressing media persons here at the party headquarters on his return from recently concluded Pugwash conference in Islamabad BJP leader said, "during the two day conference need for evolving join terror mechanism was highlighted by large number of speakers from both the sides. He, however, made it clear that no formal recommendation was drafted on these lines. Speakers while raising the issue of tackling terrorism said when Pakistan can have joint terror mechanism with Afghanistan why it is not coming forward to have similar arrangement with India, BJP leader said highlighting the fact that both t he countries have made little headway in the direction. Singh said during the conference several Pakistani leaders and army officers retired from services privately admitted that terrorism is the biggest threat to regional stability in the region and time has come to mount a joint fight against the monster. "People in Pakistan have started thinking that terrorism has recoiled on them and the weapon they had once deployed against India to bleed it internally is causing havoc in their own land" .Singh said during his presentation he reiterated stand of his party that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir is integral part of India and it cannot tolerate attempts to infringe upon its sovereignty. He said political leaders raising the slogan of demilitarization in Kashmir are doing it for their local interests as they want to retain their hold. Without naming any one,Singh said these leaders are only misleading innocent voters and doing it to retain their constituency as it is election year in Jammu and Kashmir.They are only raising hollow slogans, Singh said.(KIP)
