| JUTA demands status of Central University to JU | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 2 Jammu University Teachers' Association (JUTA) held its first executive council meeting.The meeting was attended by 28 faculty members of various departments besides office bearers. The office bearers welcomed the executive members. The President (JUTA) Prof. Narinder Tripathi put forth an agenda which the present team wants to undertake for the welfare of the teachers community of Jammu University while as Dr Rajeev Rattan, secretary JUTA enlisted some of other priorities, which the association is likely to take up. The members expressing their views on various points were all unanimous on the point of grant of status of central university to Jammu University. All the members expressed their faith and commitment in the working of the university, available infrastructure, academic environment as well as other parameters which the university of Jammu fulfills to be granted as a central university status. It was resolved that the office bearers and the entire executive members shall impress upon the honorable Chancellor, the pro-chancellor as well as the worthy education minister of the J&K state to take up the issue of granting central university status to Jammu University with central HRD Minister. In this connection all the office bearers namely Prof. Narinder Tripathi, Dr. Neeru Sharma, Dr. Rajeev Rattan, Sh. Lalitsen Sharma and Sh. Virender Koundal later met the Hon'able Vice-Chancellor Padamshree Prof. Amitabh Mattoo to request him to impress upon the state and central authorities for the grant of central university status to Jammu University. |
