| JKPCC Dy GM held taking goose | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Apr 4 A senior officer of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) was arrested by the State Vigilance Organisation for allegedly taking bribe here. Deputy General Manager of JKPCC, Kulgam, Mohammad Abass Lone was caught on Srinagar airport road, while accepting Rs 15,000 for releasing pending bills, a spokesman of the SVO said. The spokesman said Lone was arrested following a complaint by one Zahoor Ahmad Banday, a resident of Gousia colony in Kulgam district alleging that the official had demanded a bribe for release of his pending bills against the works executed by him in the construction of hospital building in the district. "A case was registered by the SVO on the complaint and in the course of investigation, a trap was laid which led to the arrest of the officer," the spokesman said. He said the tainted money was recovered from the possession of the accused in presence of independent witnesses. |
