| Army to establish oxygen refilling plant at SNM hospital Leh | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 5 Army is establishing an oxygen cylinder refilling plant for Sonam Narboo Memorial Hospital Leh under Sadbhawna Programme. This was disclosed at a function at Spetuk today when the army handed over Rs. 2 lakh worth computer sets and furniture to Samstan Chosling Spetuk. The Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Leh Tsering Dorje, Executive Councillors Dorje Motup and Mohammad Khan and Station Commander 14 Corps Brig. Atul Mehta were present on the occasion. Addressing the function Dorje appreciated the role of army in maintaining relations and liaison with people. The army is keen to provide various facilities for infrastructure development. He felicitated the Army’s policy in taking consultation from the Hill Council for viable projects as per need of the rural populace. Dorje said that under Sadhbhawna scheme, the army is constructing one hostel for disabled children at Chushot at a cost of Rs. 80 lakh. Besides, it is constructing two bridges over Leh Nallah which were washed away in last year’s flood. A three storied hostel building for the students of remote villages was recently dedicated to the people of the district at the cost of Rs. 40 lakh. |
