| Senior PDP leader joins NC | | | Early Times Reporter

Senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party from Kokernag has resigned from PDP and joined National Conference, here today.
Malik Ghulam Rasool who joined the party in presence of National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah assures that he will strengthen the party at grass root level and said that NC is the only political party which can lead the state on the path of development, peace and prosperity.
Later Malik, in a statement accused PDP and its leadership of ignoring the views of the gross-root level and stricken the democratic values in the party, he said Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti has turned the PDP into their own fiefdom and have lost the values on which the party stand for.
He added that he joined PDP with the hope that he serve the people of Kokernag in particular and state in general but "I have realized that it is party which only feeds people with hallow promises and is playing with the sentiments of the people for its own political gains".
He said that he is happy to return to National Conference which respects democratic values and aspirations of the people. |
