Page7 RR organized four educational tours for students of border districts Jammu Apr 5- To give greater exposure to the students of the far flung areas of the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, the Rashtriya Rifles Romeo Force organized four educational tours during the last year under Operation Sadbhavana involving a cost of Rs. 9.5 lakhs. These educational tours intended at showcasing India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, its economic progress and prosperity as also the aspect of peaceful existence of various communities. Educational tours have been a ‘window of future’ as seen through the eyes of generation next, instilling in them a sense of awareness, promoting national integration, exposing them to the rich cultural heritage of the country and opening up for them avenues of prosperity. Lt. Commander Wahida Prizm from Thanamadi is one such example, who by sheer dint and hard work and perseverance successfully made for herself a career as a doctor in the Indian Navy though she hailed from a family which was victim of terrorist atrocities. These tours also sensitize the young ‘goodwill ambassadors’ to the aspect of peaceful coexistence of different religious communities in the areas they visit and the impressions they carry back home that go a long way in ensuring peace and tranquility in their villages and help in restoration of normalcy. The credit for this collective metamorphosis can be attributed to the ‘Awaam and the Army’ who standing shoulder to shoulder are denouncing terrorisms and choosing in its stead to usher in an era of enlightenment, economic progress and ‘ Aman aur Kushaali’ in the region. |
