| 101 birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram celebrated | | | Early Times Reporter

The glowing tribute was paid to the former Defence Minister Mr Babu Jaggivan Ram on his 101 birth anniversary by the Gandhian workers society here today.
Speaking in a well attended function organized in Lawrence Public School Mr S P Verma State President Gandhian Worker Society said that Mr Jagjivan Ram was a man of manifold qualities of head and heart by virtue of which he dedicated his whole life for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden people of the country. He said that Mr Jagjivan Ram infused the spirit of equality among the countrymen and condemned the disparity of colour, creed and religion. He was a great visionary who brought revolution in the lives of poor and downtrodden section of society and always advocated for their economic upliftment.
He was a great freedom fighter and follower of Mahatma Gandhi. He dedications as Union Agriculture Minister, Railway and Defence shall be remembered as golden period in the History of India. He was a great Gandhian and always propagated Gandhianism in the country.
On the occasion an equality yatra was called out from Mubarak Mandi Jammu besides equality awards were given away among the Gandhian workers and all faith prayer was held.
Other who spoke on the occasion included Mr Samaullaha, Mr Abdul Majid, Mr Ghulam Nabi, Wing Commander (Retd), Mrs Shakuntla Joshi, Dr Irshed and Mr Varinder Khajuria. |
