| Ashwani Chrungoo conferred with ‘Kashmiri Pandit Samman’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 5 The Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) in its 15th annual general meeting held here today conferred its president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo with ‘Vishist Kashmiri Pandit Samman’ in recognition of his services for the upliftment of Kashmiri Pandit living as migrants in various parts of the country. Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation Kavinder Gupta, who was the chief guest on the occasion, presented memento and shawl to Chrungoo said, Chrangoo has done invaluable services for the community living services for the community living as displaced persons in own country. He said Hindus never encourage change of religion but pays equal respect to all the religion of the world. A.N Vaishnavi, president All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference said lauded the state played by PKM workers for the community and further said, younger generation has more responsibility towards the community. Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Prem Singh of Kashmiri Sikh Displaced Forum, Prof. H.L Jalali, Prof. M.L Raina and P.K Bhan. Earlier, general council unanimously elected a panel of office bearers for a period of three years, with D.K Chrungoo as president. The other members are Prof. H.L Jalali, Upinder Kaul and R.K Bhat. |
