Dogra Art Museum to remain open for festival days

On the occasion of Jammu Festival-2008, the Dogra Art Museum, Jammu situated in Pink Hall, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, shall remain open for visitors daily from April 6 to 15, 2008 during the festival days from 11 am to 10 pm.
The Dogra Art Museum a treasure house of Dogra Heritage is having the distinction of possessing one of the best and largest collections of world famous Rasmanjari series of Basohli miniature paintings.
The other collections include miniature paintings from various schools of Art (Kangra, Basohli, Moughal, Jammu, Poonch, Kashmiri, Rajsthani, etc), Dogra costumes and jewellery, rare manuscripts, bronzes, coins, terra-cotta heads from famous Kushan site Ambran Akhnoor, metal ware, Dogra arms and armoury, musical instruments, contemporary art objects from renowned artists of Jammu etc.
The Museum is being kept open beyond its scheduled timing and late evening hours during the festival days to facilitate the general public to acquaint them with the rich Dogra heritage.
