Slathia demands compensation for drought hit farmers

To express sympathy with the farmers of the kandi belt, struggling with the severe drought, former minister Surjit Singh Slathia has urged upon the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to grant the compensation to the farmers. Addressing a public rallies at villages Gagwal and Mahajan; Slathia lambasted government over the anti-farmer’s policy and said that the government has failed to make any alternate arrangement for irrigation of the fields. He added that since Congress led government came into power, the development activities have come to standstill while on the other hand ministers are indulged only in laying foundation stones.
He further said that the un-employment graph in this state is touching new heights and till date around five lakh educated youth are without jobs. He said the government has failed to provide even contractual employment to the youngsters.
Among others who participate on the occasion were, Baldev Raj, Hem Raj, Romesh Lal, Mangal Dass, Pankaj Sharma, Krishna Chowdhary, Sanjay Sharma, Om Parkash, Ganesh Sharma and others.
