| Viva Travels opens Jammu branch | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 6 Viva Travel Institute (VTI) opened its office here today. The institute offers a variety of course which span from four week capsule to a longer one of 52 weeks. The courses are all computer based and are aimed at taking the students on a simulation trip where in they are able to understand, as closely as possible, the practical day to day challenges faced in the travel office environment. These are fast track courses which touch upon itinerary making, quotes etc. There is an option to adjunct some courses with specialization programs, which after completion can train the student in a particular vertical, e.g. MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference, Exhibition) OBT completion of the elementary 14 week course, students will be able to achieve the standards response levels as expected from an executive. The founder director of VTI, Vikas Khanduri said the need to introduce these courses is to address the demand of well trained travel executives who are not just limited to a particular department but are conversant with all the aspects of the travel industry. He and his team have worked on the syllabus, making careful use of the training period and equipping the students with tools that will enable them to make useful contributions to their company. Prof. Ashok Aima and Dr Vinay Chouhan of Jammu University graced the occasion and gave valuable insight on the growth of tourism and its effects and also congratulated the Viva team in bringing professionally managed short term course to the fast growing tourism sector in state. |
