| Natrang stages Narinder Khajurias ‘Kolen Diyan Lakkeran’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 6 ‘Kolen Diyan Lakeeran’ a dogri play written by a celebrated Dogri short story written, late Narinder Khajuria was staged by Natrang theatres here today. the play was directed and young directors of the Natrang group Dimple Sharma and Mohit Sharma. The story of the play is set up on the hills of Jammu province which takes to the ear of when marriage in the hills use to either through exchange or by paying for girls. In this backdrop an elderly subedar enters into a contract to by one young widow for ten thousand rupees. He deputes his Hawaldar to bring her to the town. By the time Hawaldar reaches the hilly village after climbing tough terrain, it was too dark and he takes shelter in a roadside house. During the night the unbearable hunger forces him to search for food in the dark discussions he comes to know that she is the one for whom he has come. Impressed by her behavior he develops a liking for her and start cursing his boss who had bought her for ten thousand rupees. On their way back they come close which gives further rise to his hatred for subedar. The Hawaldar’s anger touches the sky when he sees the subedar at mid of their journey. Here Hawaldar remarks look at my oldie lusty boss, he has no faith in my integrity and has come midway to take you home. But the story takes a dramatic turn when subedar on meeting them says “Meet by Hawaldar is like my younger brother and I chose you for him, I hope you like him, god bless you both”. The role of Hawladar played by Gaurav Jamwal who enacted his inner conflict sloe fully. Subedar was played with full maturity and confidence by Dimple Sharma. Kamakashi Pattyal’s depiction of the character was praiseworthy. Pawan Verma as elderly man was superb. Others who acted well included Sajara Qadir. The lights were designed by Mohit Sharma and executed by Rahul Singh and Pankush Verma, Rohit Verma designed the sound effect. The sets were executed by Mohd. Yasin. |
