UDHAMPUR, Jan 4: Locals of village Seen Thakran in tehsil Udhampur staged a protest against PHE department for no supply of drinking water for the last one year.
Villagers said that PHE department is not providing supply of drinking water due to which the locals are totally dependent on the natural sources but such water is not fit for consumption as it is mixed with grubby and mud particularly during a rainy day adding that the resultant effect is that small kids and aged persons of the village are suffering from intestinal problems.
Locals appealed the Governor to intervene in this matter and save the life of villagers. Prominent among those who addressed the gathering included Pawan Goswami, Shiv Lal, Madan Lal, Dewan Chand, Sudesh Kumar, Chet Ram, Gulshan Kumar, Krishan Chand, Ishwar Dass and Pawan Pandit. |
