Orientation programme for newly recruited forest guards begins

Jammu, Jan 4: The Forest Department started a week long orientation programme for newly recruited forest guards. A total of 76 of Forest guards from various divisions of East Circle, shall be given orientation training to make them familiar with the working of Forest Department at Information Centre Vikram Chowk Jammu. One Week Orientation Programme for newly appointed Forest guards is aimed to train them on basic aspects of forest working which include forest protection, regeneration, wildlife protection, demarcation, laws rule and other procedures governing the working of department.
During the course of training the participants shall be made familiar with the working of forest Department and would also be given field exposure by organising field visits to nurseries ,plantation closures, check posts etc.
Senior and experienced forest officers shall be imparting training to the forest guards on Forest Act, Wildlife Act and working of SFC Department etc. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Conservator of Forests Jammu Sameer Bharti, advised the forest guards do their training with full dedication and devotion so that they can perform well in the field.
Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K Suresh Chugh, while addressing the participants emphasised that forest guards are the backbone of the Forest Department and proper training is must for increasing their efficiency and contribution to the department.
