| Shanta for action against Mehbooba | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 7 Senior BJP Vice President and Rajya Sabha MP Shanta Kumar, incharge of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday demanded legal action against the PDP chief Mehboob Mufti for mouthing suggestions of dual power sharing from the Pakistan soil. Addressing a media conference here at the party headquarters Shanta Kumar said that BJP will not tolerate such utterances which undermines sovereignty of our mother Nation. "We stand for total integrity of Jammu and Kashmir with India and oppose all such nefarious designs perpetrated by valley centric parties with an aim to garner votes ahead of elections" Kumar said .LOk sabha has passed a resolution in this regard in 1994 and we all stand by it. there is no question of changing stand, he clarified . Shanta Kumar also released a seven minute DVD Maa Tujhe Salam depicting flag hoisting ceremony at Lal Chowk by BJP leader NP Singh. Senior BJP leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta and state BJP Chief Ashok Khajuria who, were seated alongside Shanta Kumar , also demanded action against the PDP chief for airing such proposals. Prof Gupta also lashed out at the National conference patron DrFarooq Abdullah over Autonomy issue."What more Farooq wants, The central government has already diluted its power by introducing article 370 but these people are still not satisfied and raise the bogey of non fulfillment of promises". On the occasion Shanta Kumar fielded variety of questions on the poll preparedness of the state unit ahead of 2008 polls. He denied reports of division within the party ranks.He said there is no division in the party and the party leadership is marching ahead unitedly. "I am hopeful 2008 Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir will throw major surprises and BJP will strengthen its position". He accused UPA government for failing to curb prices of essential commodities.He also compared NDA rule with that of UPA term and claimed that the situation on the price rise was not dismal when NDA was in the office.The UAP government has failed to check price rise its inept handling of food crisis in the country is leading to more scare among investors. He blamed congress for corruption and nepotism and said NDA had accorded top priority to the food security in the country during their time and is the reason why prices were jumped and were always under control. |
