| Weeklong National Youth Camp at Gulmarg from August 30 | | | Srinagar, August 28,– A youth camp is being organized at Gulmarg under the Civic Action Programme of J&K Police from 30th August to 6th September 2006. Main objective of the camp is to acquaint the children from across the country to the natural beauty and cultural grandeur of the Kashmir valley and to help in building a bond between the youth of the state and rest of the country. The participants including 285 children and 51 staff members drawn from various schools of states like UP, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttranchal, AP, MP, Delhi, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. The youth camp would be inaugurated by ADGP Armed J&K Mr. P. S. Gill on 30th August 2006 which would be attended amongst others by senior civil and police officers. The children would be taken to religious and tourist places of importance including Hazratbal and Shankaracharya Shrine, Amusement Park, Pahalgam, Awantipora Ruins, Martand Temple, Mughal Gardens, etc, learning snow skinning, trekking, rock climbing painting/essay and sports competition and cultural programmes. Special attraction would be the introduction of a Sky Beam and Laser Show being organized for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir State. A special party from Mumbai is landing with equipment on 6th September morning to conduct this scintillating show of music and laser dance. |
