Srinagar, August 28, – Asserting that sports are important ingredients of education curriculum, Minister for Haj, Auqaf, Youth Services and Sports Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed has said that the government has taken various steps to upgrade the sports infrastructure base in the state. He said that the recent re-organization of Sports department is taken to extend these facilities to middle level. The Minister was addressing at conclusion of the final match of Inter District Faizan Cricket Tournament at marvel Pulwama. BCC Zoon club clinched the final match defeating Friends Cricket Club Nehamma. He said that Sports have now been accorded priority in the education curriculum in order to promote the sports activities all over the state. He said in coming years the state would host various national and international matches. He said that the state possesses a good talent and we are taking every step to chanalize it in a better way. Referring to the demand of locals, Peerzada said that steps would be taken for fencing and leveling of the local sports ground of marvel Pulwama. He asked the students to participate in every sports activities at national and international level. About 18 teams of different cricket clubs and schools participated in the tournament. Later, the Minister distributed trophies among the winners. Director, Youth Services and Sports was also present in the function. |
