Department of Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) clinched both Carrom and Chess events beating their opponents in the finals today in the Inter-Department Sports Meet of University of Jammu, here.
In Carrom, MCA defeated Business School 2-0. Anil Gupta beat Rahul Sharma while Vikas Sharma trounced Ketan Gupta.
Later, in Chess final, MCA outplayed Law School 2-1. While Gulshan Singh Rathore beat Gurpal Singh, Manish Sharma lost to Karan Khosa. In the deciding game, Gulshan Singh trounced Karan Khosa to guide his team to title win.
The Table Tennis trophy went to the Department of Botany, who beat the Law School 2-1. The results: Fayaz Ahmed lost to Bhanu Partap Singh 8-11, 7-11; Sandeep Kotwal bt Kran Khosa 11-8, 11-9. Doubles: Sandeep and Fayaz beat the pair of Karan and Bhanu 11-9, 9-11, 15-13.
Meanwhile, in Badminton, Department of Law trounced the Law School 2-1. The results: Atul Verma bt Amar Veer Manas 21-4, 21-7; Munish Sahrma lost to Abhik Gupta 19-21, 18-21. Doubles: Atul and Munish bt Amar and Abhik 21-13, 21-14.
Today’s finals were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Dinesh Rajput, Rajan Tah, Meenakshi and Sunaina. |
