BHADARWAH, AUGUST 28 : Six months long National Environmental Awareness Campaign (NEAC) which was organised by P.G College Bhadarwah in collaboration with Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India and W.W.F Nature India concluded here yesterday. Large number of students, staff and social workers participated in the concluding function. Principal of the College, Dr Mohammed Iqbal presided over the function and inaugurated the compost pits dug the college premises for garbage disposal. Earlier Dr Javed Iqbal, Coordinator NEAC in his address sought the cooperation for promotion of solid wastes management, reuse, reduction and recycling of the wastes. He appealed the authorities for installation of large storage bins, sanitary land fills, use of vehicles for proper transport and disposal of wastes and cleanliness of drains, filth and garbage removed by sweepers. During NEAC programme, workshops, lectures, public meetings, awareness to Police and CRPF personal, social workers, cleanliness drive, seminars and construction of compost pits was carried out with suggestions to the Municipal Committee. |
