| Rs. 7 cr plan to stabilize irrigation facilities in Bla: Dilawar | | | Early Times Reporter Baramulla | Apr 10 A number of deputations called on Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Mohammad Dilawar Mir at Baramulla and apprised him of their problems. The deputations were from various villages of Rafiabad constituency. Talking to these deputations, the Minister said the government has formulated an ambitious irrigation project, estimated to cost Rs. 7 crore to stabilize the irrigation system of Ladhu Ladura and adjacent villages. The scheme namely Satervan storage tank irrigation scheme will comprise a feeding channel, a storage tank having capacity of 8 lakh gallons and distributing channel. The scheme so formulated would be submitted to the central government for funding. The Minister said Rs. 5 crore would be spent on the construction of the storage tank while another Rs. 2 crore would be spent on improvement of the existing system in the area. He said the project would cover a command area of 1250 acres of agriculture and horticulture land. |
