| Former ultras float separatist political outfit | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Apr 10 A group of former militants on Thursday floated a political organization ‘Tehreek-e-Mazahmat’ (resistance movement) with the objective of uniting all former militants under one banner and intensify a peaceful struggle for the 'complete independence' of Jammu and Kashmir. Announcing the formation of the party at a news conference here today, former JKLF militant Bilal Sidiqui, released recently after an imprisonment of 18 years, said we have sent invitation to all founder members of the freedom struggle to join the organization. Sidiqui, flanked by Chief Commander of the now defunct Al-Umer Commandos Shabir Ahmad Zargar and former Commander of J and K Students Liberation Front Salim Zargar, however, made it clear that the new party would not ally with either of the two factions of Hurriyat Conference. Asked why they floated an outfit when senior separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah was engaged in uniting the separatists in the state, he said ‘we have invited all to join hands and strengthen the ongoing struggle in the state’. He said the aims and objectives of the new outfit are to launch a decisive but peaceful struggle for right to self-determination, remove the prevailing confusion created by new formulas and roadmaps put forth for resolution of Kashmir issue and launch a public awareness campaign. Salim Zargar, has been nominated as the convenor of the organization, he said. |
