| JKI employees to get COLA soon: Jora | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 10 The 51-block of COLA for Jammu and Kashmir Industries Employees pending since long would be released soon. This was decided in the 141st meeting of Board of Directors of the corporation held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Industries and Commerce Nawang Rigzin Jora. Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Dr. Romesh Kumar Sharma was also present in the meeting. During the deliberations, it was also decided that gratuity would be enhanced to the tune of Rs. 3.50 lakh. The meeting was informed that the Golden Handshake Scheme (GHS) as ordered by the government was also implemented by the management and in this regard ex-gratia payment to the employees of government pharmaceutical works Baramulla and Srinagar have been released. The Voluntarily Retirement Scheme (VRS) would also be implemented soon for the employees of the corporation. It was also informed that GHS would be implemented in respect of employees of Ply board Industries, Pampore, Shoddy, and Spinning Mills, R&T factory, Rajouri, Sunderbani and sole leather plant Muthi for which ex-gratia payment would be released out of funds available with the corporation. The managing Director, JKI has apprised the Board that the corporation has planned to modernize four potentially viable units for which government would provide funds out of the reconstruction and modernization of Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). Among others, Principal Secretary Forest Madhav Lal, Principal Secretary Planning and Development M. I. Khanday, Commissioner Secretary Finance B. B. Vyas, Secretary Industries and Commerce Dr. Pawan Kotwal and Managing Director Raman Sony attended the meeting. |
