| 12 theft cases solved, 27 arrested | | | Early Times Reporter Kathua | Apr 11 Kathua police has claimed to have solved twelve theft cases within four months of the current year, registered in different areas of Kathua district including four cases from Bani, two cases from Ramkote, one from Billawar, two from Kathua and one from Lakhanpur. Giving details police sources said that in order to curb crime a special team led by ASP Benam Tosh under the supervision of SSP Kathua J.P Singh was constituted. Team after conducting several raids arrested twenty seven thieves including four kingpins of the four different gangs besides recovered almost Rs thirteen lakh property and cash from their possession. During interrogation of the arrested four Kingpins identified as Ankush Raina r/o Basoli, Rajinder Singh S/o Tirth Ram r/o Billawar, Ram Singh and Vijay S/o Tridu Ram r/o Thiddiyan, they disclosed police that there were total forty thieves in different areas of their gangs who were active in district Kathua. Police team is on toe to nab the thirteen absconding thieves, sources maintained. When Early Times contacted to ASP Kathua Benam Tosh he said, “it is the head labour of police caps that a big achievement has been made.” |
