Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 11 Minister for Higher Education Gulchain Singh Charak inaugurated youth Red Cross unit at Institute of Engineering & Computer Science (IECS), North Polytechnic, Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions, Purkhoo here today. Accompanied by chairman of the Institute, Vidhis Singh, Secretary State Board of Technical Education and Bodh Raj Verma , Minister inspected exhibition of projects prepared by students of the institute and evinced interest in the engineering skill exhibited by them. Later, Charak inaugurated two recreation parks at the institute. Addressing the function, Charak asked teaching fraternity to inculcate spirit of hard work, honesty and high moral character among the students. Referring to imparting technical education to the students, Charak impressed for extending and introducing innovate streams in place of conventional ones so that the students could face the challenge of modern science on global level. Later, Minister awarded the meritorious students who had participated in essay competition, poster making, symposium, cultural programme and Red Cross. They include Indu Bala, Imran Rizvi, Vikas Talwa, Ashwani, Ashish, Iram Jan and Aditya. Director ICES Renu Bangroo and Rajesh Magotra.also attended the function. |
