| 3-day Jammu Festival concludes at Kathua | | Charak appreciates role of people in making festival a success | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 12 The 3-day Jammu Festival concluded at Kathua and Minister for Higher Education Gulchain Singh Charak was the chief guest at the valedictory function, while as Depity Commissioner, Kathua, Sarita Chouhan was the guest of honour. SSP, Kathua, J.P.Singh and large number of people attended the concluding function. The main attraction of the evening was Laser Show and Light and Music Show, organized for the first time at the district headquarters. Earlier, during the day, rural sports like Kabadi, Matka race were organized, besides hot balloon ride; musical chair and other activities related to fun and fair were arranged for entertainment of the visitors. Special cultural bonanza was part of the function which was liked by the people. District Information Centre, Kathua had specially set up a stall with photo exhibition and had arranged film shows and cultural programme during the festival. Addressing the valedictory function, Charak appreciated the role of people in general, executing and private agencies in particular who gave an overwhelming response and made the festival a grand success. Speaking about number of stalls put up by Prof. Aruna of Govt Higher Secondary School, Kathua with regard to Guidance and Counseling, District Information Centre, Kathua, Horticulture, agriculture, handicrafts tourism, health departments and food stalls by other agencies, Charak lauded the role of all these institutions and agencies for their participation and taking a stride in making the festival a colourful and memorizing one. Dy. Commissioner, Kathua also addressed the function. |
