Work on17 road projects costing Rs.72 cr to start soon: Jugal

Minister for R & B Jugal Kishore has announced that 17 new projects involving a cost of Rs. 72 crore are being taken up under PMGSY Phase VI this year in Arnas, Gool, Mahore, Pouni and Reasi blocks. He said that on completion, these projects would provide road connectively to 24688 souls of 36 habitations. He also announced construction of footbridge costing Rs.2.5 crore at Thakrakote.
Announcing this at a public meeting at Arnas today the Minister said that the government was committed to provide road connectivity to all habitations of the state under state sector and centrally sponsored schemes within next three years.
On way to Arnas, Jugal inspected various on going developmental works in the area. He directed the concerned authorities to complete all under execution works in a time bound manner besides properly utilizing the available funds. He also asked them to speed up the construction work on Arnas- Dhanour road project costing Rs.1.63 crore. During his inspection, the Minister was informed that Rs.60 lakh have been incurred on the said project so far. He was also informed that Rs.3.7 crore have been incurred for 8 road projects under execution in the Constituency out of estimated cost of Rs.57 crore under PMGSY.
Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Aijaz Ahmad Khan also addressed the gathering and said that the present government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is committed to implement all policies and programmes aiming at upliftment of down trodden and weaker sections of the society living in remote and far-flung areas.
The Minister said that several welfare schemes have already been launched by the present government to improve the living standard of the people and efforts are on to build the basic infrastructure required in education, health, power, PHE and communication sectors.
He said though the unemployment is a big challenge and a burning problem before the government but various measures are being taken to eradicate the unemployment in the state.
Later, both the Ministers visited Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
