| FOI delegation call on Sonia Gandhi | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 12 A delegation of Industrialists of Federation of Industries (FOI) met Sonia Gandhi and apprised her about the death warrant issued by government of India for industries of Jammu and Kashmir. As per press release she was informed that the package of incentive was extended by the government of India to J&K from 2002 to 2012. but the premature virtual withdrawal with four years remaining of the excise duty exemption is a breach of trust and commitment, which will have negative implications in times to come. She was informed that the credibility of the central government has been lost for J&K state hence no body from outside the state will come for investment in industries sectors. Hence the new notification should be withdrawn in Toto, delegation members said it this notification is not withdrawn more than 25,000 people will loose their jobs in these industries which will create serious financial difficulties for business as well as labour. A memorandum was submitted to her by the chairman FOI Anil Suri on spot. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad also apprised Gandhi that the premature withdrawal of the package of incentives of J&K industries is unfair, unjust and legally incorrect. He requested to get this notification withdrawn and save industries from closure. Union minister PCCI president Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz also supported the cause of industries and informed Sonia that the issue has been taken up with the Prime Minister. The delegation comprised of Kuldeep Dogra, Anil Suri, Rajesh Jain, Romesh Badial, Devinder Verma, Rakesh Bhat, Sanjay Mehra, T.S Reen, Anil Gupta, Irfan Naquib, Satish Kaul and Vikrant Kuthiala. |
