In a nail biting finish, the DC-XI defeated World -XI by a narrow margin of 4 runs during a friendly 20-20 over Cricket match played at Sports Stadium here today.
The World XI Captain, Michael from USA won the toss and decided to field first. DC-XI scored 123 runs for the loss of seven wickets. DIG, Udhampur-Reasi range, Alok Puri made 51 runs and was declared ‘Man of the Match’. In reply World-XI could only score 119 runs, in which Ashok Kumar made highest 31 runs, Noha from USA made 21 runs and Sunanda from UK added 02 runs.
A large number of spectators witnessed the match and cheered every ball. The Friendly Match was a part of Jammu Festival-2008, organized by the District Administration. The team members of DC-XI included DDC, O.P. Kalandria (Captain), CPO, Rakesh Jamwal, CEO, V.M. Raina, DIG, Udhampur-Reasi range, Alok Puri, President CCI, Udhampur, S.S. Kalsotra, Raj Guru, Ram Khajuria , Pritam Kotwal, Sunil Badyal, Rajan Singh, Jagdev Singh. The World-XI comprised on Michael, USA (Captain), Noha, USA, Sunanda, UK, S. Jasviner Singh, Italy, President YHAI, (J&K), S. P. Verma, Assistant Director, Spots, Ashok Kumar, NRI, Shashi Paul, Navjyoti (Punjab), Harneet, M.S.Chouhan (Raj) and Kuljeet.
