| Natrang stages ‘Teen Apaahij’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 13 Natrang remarkably established the tradition of show must go on in its weekly Sunday theatre. Despite being extremely busy in creating the mega cultural show for the concluding function of Jammu festival-2008, Natrang successfully managed the performance of difficult play Aapahij which was staged with full enthusiasm and creative energy. ‘Teen Apaahij’- written by Vipin Kumar Aggarwal and directed by Balwant Thakur while addressing the audience said that such intellectual plays written by the top writers of the country carry immense value both for the performers as well as the spectators. It’s performing and viewing should be encouraged by all means to create health literary and cultural environment in the city. ‘Teen Apaahij’ (Three Handicapped) revolves around the story of three young men suffering from physical and mental abilities. Set at a crossroad, three handicapped are shown sitting under a lamp post doing nothing and just passing comments on everything. In a highly symbolic manner, the playwright has tried to expose the directionless system be it political, social or spiritual. This sickening system has rendered the youth of this country not only helpless but also has turned them handicapped. The infection of sadistic corruption has entered into our thoughts and it this poison will never allow any new thought, revolution and initiative to occur in our minds. Natrang experimented this production with new generation of actors being fresher’s, three handicapped were excellently played by Gaurav Jamwal, Rahul Singh and Rohit Verma. They were supported Mohd. Yaseen as Drumeater and Ankush Lakhnotra as Cyclewala. Pankush Verma designed the lights and Mohit Sharma created the sounds effects. |
