| Industrialists call on Babu Singh | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 14 Minister for Power Mr. Babu Singh has lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for projecting the problems of J&K Industry with UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. Interacting with the deputation of J&K industrialists Singh said that there is dire need for strengthening the economy of the state by encouraging industrial sector adding that it is must to make it pollution free and job-oriented industry. The Minister expressed optimism that Mrs. Gandhi and Prime Minister shall intervening in the matter and get the notification issued by Union Finance Ministry for withdrawal of Central Excise Exemption from J&K withdrawn as early as possible. He said in the present scenario, the industry provides bread and butter to thousands of un-employed youth. He said more endeavors must be made to promote the industrial sector where a good number of un-employed youth can be absorbed. Babu Singh said that Azad was continuously in touch with the Central Government for early withdrawal of notification. The Union Finance Minister had recently issued a notification for withdrawal of central excise exemption from J&K State which had created chaos and panic among the industrialists of the state. The central excise exemption is part of the ten years incentive extended to J&K till 2012 owing to the un-rest and militancy in the state. |
