| Reshi, Roop Lal join PDP | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 15 Peoples' Democratic Party received shot in arm when two prominent politicians joined the party in the presence of former Chief Minister and party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and other senior leaders. Publicity secretary of National Conference Kashmir province and prominent leader from Tral, Ghulam Hassan Reshi resigned from his party to join the PDP along with supporters. Former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Minister of State for Health and Education, Peer Mohammed Hussain, senior vice-president and MLA Ved Mahajan, former Minister Rangil Singh, general secretary Dhaman Bhasin, state secretary and media incharge Renu Azad and senior leader and corporator Anjum Fazli were also present on the occasion. Expressing full faith in the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti, Ghulam Hassan Reshi said that he has taken this decision due to the pro people policies being propagated by the PDP. He said that it was all due to the policies of PDP that situation has been changed in the State and peace has been prevailed to some extend in the violence plagued areas. Mr Reshi said that PDP has restored dignity and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through its policies. Another political activist Dr Roop Lal Sharma also joined the party this morning in a function. Dr Sharma, who has been active in politics since 1995, expressed full faith in the policies and programmes of PDP. He said that future of people of Jammu and Kashmir was safe in the hands of Mufti Mohammed Sayed and Mehbooba Mufti and it was hightime to strengthen PDP for the betterment of the State. Senior leaders of the party including party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed were also present on the occasion. Mr Sayeed welcomed Dr Roop Lal in the party fold. |
