| Solider killed in ambush | | | Early Times Reporter

A solider was killed when militants ambushed an operation party of Rashtriya Rifles in Banihal district, early on Tuesday morning.
Official sources revealed that on specific information a team of 23 RR and Jammu and Kashmir police launched a search operation at Trigam area of Banihal district, during the wee hours today.
However, militants ambushed the search party when it was crossing a nalla at Kheriboll, sources said adding militants fired indiscriminately on the troops.
One solider, identified as Lans Naik Daleep Singh of 23 RR, was killed on the spot, while militants managed to flee from the spot.
Defence Spokesman Lt Col SD Goswami confirmed the incident and said that the searches were in progress, when the last report came in. |
