| Punishment for performing well! | | SHO Gandhi Nagar transferred, residents protest | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 15 Residents of Gandhi Nagar area today protested against the police authorities as soon as they came to know about the transfer of SHO Gandhi Nagar Rafiq Manhas from the area. They said the brave officer was was instrumental in busting several burglars’ gangs and recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees. “A theft was made in my jewellery shop and it was because of efforts of Rafiq that police apprehended thieves within fifteen days and recovered ornaments worth rupees five lakh from their possession, one of the traders of the locality said. “The brave SHO received injuries while apprehending history sheeter criminals from Sarwal area. Besides blind, murder case was also solved by him,” Dheeraj a local resident said. “In a recent Shimla double murder case, it was this SHO who had apprehended Minta, the kingpin of the murder case from Nanak Nagar and DIG Farooq Khan had praised him saying that award should be given to this brave officer but unfortunately transfer order has been given to him,” Rockey another resident of the area lamented. The residents have urged upon the DGP Kuldeep Khoda to reconsider the decision so that peace and calmness continue to prevail in the Gandhi Nagar area. |
