Jammu | Apr 16
The clerical cadre employees' strike, demanding removal of pay anomalies, entered its 21st day today, paralysing functions at government offices across Jammu and Kashmir.
Ministerial staff members from various departments staged demonstrations at their offices in Jammu, Srinagar and Leh in support of their demands.
The Kam Chor Hartal under the banner of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association, began on March 27.
Employees pleaded pay grades of junior, senior and head assistants be upgraded in line with other cadres in the past. Reports of protests and dharnas are pouring in from various districts and tehsil headquarters.
The dialogue between the government and the negotiation committee of the agitating employees is likely to be resumed in the office of divisional commissioner of Jammu today.
