| Mufti goes vegetarian | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 16 PDP patron, Mufti Mohd.Sayeed, prefers vegetarian to non-vegetarian dishes.Though one time the Mufti had weakness for roasted chicken and mutton delicacies,he has now shed his taste for non-vegetarian dishes. When on Wednesday Mufti Sayeed hosted a lunch for newsmen after the press conference he acted,as his habit, like a good host requesting newsmen to enjoy the non-vegetarian delicacies,he was seen sitting in a chair enjoying Naan with a plate of salad and a bowl of mixed vegetables. As one of his aides wanted to know what would he like to have the Mufti loudly said “only vegetarian dishes.” Inside reports said that shift to vegetarianism is under medical advice.A noted cardiologist Dr Fayaz Shawl had examined Mufti Sayeed when the later visited Dubai recently. He had suggested to him to avoid taking non-vegetarian dishes. At the most the Mufti can enjoy white wheat. He is not to take red mutton. These reports said that vegetarianism has helped the Mufti to remain physically fit.It has helped him to remain calm despite provocations from his political opponents. It has helped him in wearing a smile, instead of a grin,on his face. However, those who manage his household affairs, including orderlies and cooks, are a bit upset. When Mufti Sayeed preferred roasted mutton and chicken delicacies these orderlies too could get a chance for taking a piece or two of roasted mutton. Possibly shift to vegetarianism may have given the Mufti the vision for unfolding new ideas on further normalizing relations between India and Pakistan. No wonder if the PDP won more than 20 seats in the ensuing Assembly election the Mufti’s political rival may also imitate him by discarding Goshtaba, Kababs and Rista. |
