Protest against Mufti’s Pak currency demand continues
4/16/2008 9:48:31 PM

Jammu | Apr 16
On the second consecutive day, led by its president Rajesh Gupta, Distt. Jammu unit of BJP today held a massive protest demonstration at Kachi Chawni Chowk against Mufti Mohd. Sayed and later burnt his effigy. The party activists raised slogans demanding action against Mehbooba Mufti and Mufti Mohd. Sayed for their utterances which in no way can be good for the nation.
Rajesh Gupta while addressing the protest demonstrators, criticized the Congress led UPA at the Centre and the Congress led coalition in the state for sitting as mute spectator on the anti-national demands of the PDP leadership. He said while PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti used the recent PUGWASH Conference in Pakistan as a platform to say what the Pakistan wanted to say, her father too is not behind her. Mufti Mohd. Sayeed’s assertion of use of Pakistani currency in Jammu and Kashmir should leave no one in any doubt that both these PDP leaders are going against the constitutional frame-work of India and if not checked, India will have to pay heavy price. He said that the Prime Minister and the Congress leadership should explain to the people as to why no action is being taken against Mehbooba and his father despite the fact that they are preaching sedition. He declared that the BJP will not allow the government to be lenient towards Muftis and our agitation will be further intensified till Mehbooba Mufti and Mufti Mohd. Sayed are not booked.
